JISC funds content in the form of ‘collections’
collections of stuff (text, images, data, ...)
collections of metadata about stuff (e.g subject gateway’s Internet Resource Catalogues)
Note: also need to remember physical collections (libraries, museums, ...) and ‘services’ - but not today
