UKOLN Web Site Creation: Good Practice Guidelines - 19 February 2002

Session Details

Objectives
Ensuring learning resources and digital materials are delivered via your Web site in an accessible way is key to success. This half-day event will follow on from the morning and explore good practice in building a Web site looking at tools, techniques and standards, and will discuss a number of case studies as examples. The event is aimed at those who may be relatively new to the process of Web site creation but will also aim to provide useful advice to experienced Web developer. The workshop is aimed at those who will be responsible for Web site creation or managing the Web-delivery aspect of the project, or those who will be preparing specifications to tender for Web site design and delivery who would like to improve their overall appreciation of the topic.
Target Audience
The seminar is aimed at those who will be managing Web services and those involved in commissioning the development of Web services.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the seminar participants will be aware some of the pitfalls in providing Web services. Participants will be aware of a number of approaches to providing quality Web sites and of measuring the quality of their service.
What The Session Won't Cover
The seminar will not describe the use of any specific applications or specific solutions for NOF projects.
