Introduction:

The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) was established in 2001 to foster joint action to address the urgent challenges of securing the preservation of digital resources in the UK and to work with others internationally to secure our global digital memory and knowledge base. More information on the DPC is available from its Web site

Work on the DPC at UKOLN:

Between 2002 and 2005, UKOLN was contracted by the DPC to provide current awareness services. This primarily took the form of a quarterly bulletin on digital preservation, compiled in association with the National Library of Australia's Preserving Access to Digital Information (PADI) subject gateway. Over the same time period, UKOLN staff also added some new records to the PADI service.
