Presentations from the DELOS Workshop on the Evaluation of Digital Libraries are now freely available. The "Workshop on the Evaluation of Digital Libraries", took place over 4-5 October 2004 in the Department of Information Engineering,University of Padova, Italy. Given the lack of appropriate evaluation methodologies in the area of digital library evaluation the workshop took as its aim a survey on the state of the art in DL evaluation, and sought to identify major issues for further research in this area.
Workshop on Audio-Visual Content and Information Visualization in Digital Libraries, May 2005
The Delos research cluster 4 "User-Interface and visualization" announces the
"Seventh International Workshop of the EU Network of Excellence DELOS on
Audio-Visual Content and Information Visualization in Digital Libraries"
(AVIVDiLib'05), 4-6 May 2005, in Cortona, Italy. A Call for Papers is
available at the workshop web site.
The workshop aims at providing a forum to present the latest research results,
new technology development and new applications in the areas of multimedia
content and information visualization in digital libraries.
This workshop, promoted by the DELOS Network of Excellence (http://www.delos.info/), jointly organized by Audio/Visual and Non-traditional Objects (WP3) and User Interfaces and Visualization (WP4), aims to provide a forum to present the latest research results, new developments in technology and new applications in the areas of multimedia content and information visualization in digital libraries.

One of the main objectives of Cluster 4 (User Interfaces and Visualization) is to collect and analyze user requirements in order to relate them to the different research perspectives and technical implementation options on a digital library. To this end, two integrated questionnaires (for end-users and stakeholders) have been set up for on-line collection and processing of data. Digital library end-users and stakeholders are warmly invited to complete them.
The questionnaires can be found in the relevant area of the cluster website.
