"New Library: The People's Network": The Government Response was released on 16th April 1998. Press releases from the LA, LIC and DCMS have also been released.
'New Library: The People's Network' was commissioned from the Library and Information Commission by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. It was researched and produced by a specially convened working group chaired by Matthew Evans.
'New Library: The People's Network' was launched on 15th October 1997 and formally presented by Matthew Evans to the Secretary of State, the Rt. Hon. Chris Smith MP.
This web site provides the full text of the report. The report can either be viewed by chapter or as one complete document. The complete document is a large file and may take some time to download.
