Sheila D Creth was appointed University Librarian at the University of Iowa Libraries in 1987. Prior to this she held posts at the universities of Connecticut, Michigan and Columbia, and with the Columbia University Computing Centre. Ms Creth currently serves on the EDUCOM Board of Trustees, the Steering Committee for the Coalition for Networked Information, the Information Policies Committee for the Association of Research Libraries, and the Board for the Centre for Research Libraries. A frequent lecturer and writer in the field of librarianship, she also acts as a consultant to libraries on organisation development and change.
Shelia Creth gave the Follett Lecture entitled "Transforming Libraries and Librarians for the Twenty-first Century" on 25/30 September 1996.
