UKOLN is a centre of expertise in digital information management, providing advice and services to the library, information, education and cultural heritage communities and is based at the University of Bath.
As Research Officer (Text Digitisation), the post holder will be a major part of UKOLN's contribution to the IMPACT (Improving Access to Text) Project, and would be responsible for the specification and provision of high-quality documentation on text digitisation topics and an integrated training programme.
Applicants should be happy working as part of a distributed team, be able to work independently and prioritise tasks and be confident in dealing with a range of external contacts. They should have specific knowledge of digitisation concepts and techniques, of the wider contexts of text digitisation, and of relevant digital library technologies.
UKOLN has a pro-active approach to staff development.
This is a full time post but we are open to flexible working arrangements and support home working where appropriate. The contract will be for 18 months in the first instance. Salary for the above post will be in the range £29,704 - £35,469 per annum.
