To conclude:

• The Web has not yet stabilised
• New developments provide needed functionality or address current limitations
• However W3C cannot guarantee that its vision will necessarily be implemented
• There is therefore a risk and a cost in adopting new standards
• There is also a risk in failing to adopt new standards!
• Keeping up-to-date is therefore essential!
