Abstract - Approaches To Automated Benchmarking Of Public Sector Web Sites

Many communities, especially those in the public sector, are expected to comply with standards and best practices in their provision of Webservices. Guidelines on standards and best practices may well be followed by benchmarking of Web sites in order to monitor compliance with recommendations. In this talk Brian Kelly will outline issues associated with use of automated tools in order to support benchmarking work. This work is based on work initially carried out in the HE sector which is being evaluated in a number of public sectors including public libraries and museums.
