We have heard a great deal about 'Web 2.0' and the term 'Library 2.0' is now becoming wore widely used. But what does it actually mean - in particular what are the implications for information professionals.
In this presentation Brian Kelly will explain these terms and provide examples of how Web 2.0 technologies (blogs, wikis, RSS, AJAX, etc.) and the Web 2.0 culture of openness, 'always beta' and trusting users are being used in a library context to provide a richer range of services to the user community. Brian will also review some of the barriers which can hinder the effective deployment of Web 2.0 services and outline strategies for overxcoming such barriers.
