This document provides access to descriptions of the quality assurance policies and procedures for the Institutional Web Management Workshop 2004 Web site. The aims of the QA policies and procedures are to help ensure that the Web site is functional, widely accessible, maintainable and interoperable.

Resources on the Web site should be usable by a wide range of Web browsers.
Resources on the Web site should seek to comply with at least WAI A guidelines. In particular meaningful alt tags for images should be used and the Web site should be functional with display of images and JavaScript disabled.
The Web site editor will make use of the IE, Opera, and Mozilla Web browsers when managing the Web site.
On 14th July 2004 Brian Kelly disabled the display of images in the Mozilla browser and successully accesed all areas of the Web site linked in from the navigational bar.
On 14th July 2004 Brian Kelly disabled JavaScript in the Phoenix browser and successully accesed all areas of the Web site linked in from the navigational bar.
Interactive aspects of the Web site, such as the online booking forms, should be functional.
The Web site editor will test the forms using a variety of input data including data containing unusual characters. The output files created will be checked in order to ensure that data has not been corrupted by the workflow process.
Prior to launch of the online booking forms the forms were tested.
Resources on the Web site should be usable by user agents other than standard Web browsers.
In order to test the interoperability of the Web site the Web site was downloaded to a Palm IIIc PDA using the Avantgo serive and pages accessed on the device. This will indicate that resources on the Web site can be processed by user agents other than a Web browser.
The IWMW 2004 Web site was installed on a Palm IIc PDA usign Avantgo on 17th July 2004 and the main areas of the Web site were successfully accessed.
