Is there an existing system?
- e.g., ISO 9000 (BS5750) procedures
Central co-ordination and control
- Planning overall information resources
- e.g., organisational data model
- formulating policies (security, access, etc)
- How much does it actually do (versus just co-ordinate)
- More autonomy at local level = more control at the centre
Local management and enactment
- Defining, providing & maintaining information
- Ensuring compliance with central policies (e.g. security, style)
- Identifying changes in requirements and practices
