Bookshelf
Bookshelf is a selection of book titles that have been identified either as useful general introductions to Web 2.0 topics or are specifically aimed at all or part of the cultural heritage sector. To recommend a title that is not listed here, contact us at cultural-heritage@lists.ukoln.ac.uk
Bookshelf has been created using a service called LibraryThing. Because this is an external service, we cannot guarantee that the content will always be available; however it has proved very reliable to date.
This service could be used to create a range of resources - here are some ideas.
- Public Library: Book group or reading circle title list
- Public Library: Man Booker or Carnegie shortlists
- Museum or Gallery: Background books (biographies, artistic periods or schools, materials, etc.) for an exhibition or display
- Public Record Offices: Books on how to research family history
- Public Library or Public Record Office: Local history titles specific to your locality
As well as complete listings, as in Bookshelf, sub-sets of titles can be displayed in web pages or blogs as in the Selections shown below. For more information, read Using LibraryThing.
