This talk will describe the potential benefits which can be gained from use of social Web services such as social networking services and social bookmarking services as well as blogs and wikis.

The talk will illustrate ways in which museums are making use of such services and how such services may provide an effective return on investment, especially for museums with limited technical expertise or budget. The potential risks of use of such services will also be acknowledged, and a risk management framework for making effective use of such services will be described.
