Twitter, Facebook, social networks, ... How can they help and what are the barriers?
About the session
This breakout session will provide a brief introduction to a number of Social Web services and provide a summary of the Web 2.0 environment. Following the initial presentation participants will work in small groups in order to identify (a) potential benefits of the Social Web, including specific examples of relevance to the individual participant, and (b) barriers to deployment of these potential services. The session will conclude by outlining approaches to addressing the barriers.

Biographical Details

Image of Brian Kelly Brian Kelly is UK Web Focus, a post funded by the JISC and the MLA which advises the UK's higher and further education communities and museums, libraries and archives sector on best practices in use of the Web.

Brian has given many presentations on Web 2.0 and Library 2.0 over the past few years inncluding delivering a sreries of workshops to the museums, libraries and archives communities.
