Workshop Programme


PURPOSE: To explore the potential for international collaboration
in subject gateway activity, to identify useful points of contact, and to promote strategies which lever collective effort in mutually beneficial
ways. The workshop will have a facilitating chair, and a designated scribe who will produce a report.

Question and answer session; discussion.

General discussion to develop breakout agendas in following areas:

  • architectures (technical standards, interworking, etc)
  • content development (selection and evaluation criteria, international compatibility, national/subject, etc)
  • business models (funding patterns, incentives and barriers to collaboration, compatibility of approaches, opportunities) Focus on motives for and issues arising out of technical, service and business interworking.

Three breakouts in above areas. Mission is to produce a prioritised list of issues in each area and to suggest activities/actions.
