A pilot survey of the HTML compliance of the home pages of 6 JISC 5/99 projects in Scotland has been carried out. The survey makes use of the W3C HTML compliance checking tool.

Rather than simply present projects with this information it is intended to first raise awareness of the issues by providing an article on the importance of standards compliance. If time and logistics permit it is hoped to raise these issues in a workshop and then provide access to the automated surveys.
