MATTHEW HALL is currently a research student at the Open
University's Faculty of Technology. Until recently he was a
Research Fellow at De Montfort University, where he worked on an
ESRC-funded study into patent information use by small and
medium-sized enterprises.

CHARLES OPPENHEIM has recently been appointed Professor of
Information Science at Loughborough University, having
previously been Professor of Electronic Library Research at De
Montfort University. He has published widely on copyright and
intellectual property rights.

experience of the information industry. Her current research,
