The use of technology in teaching gained momentum through the TLTP Teaching and Learning Technology Programme.
What we as a profession face, as we seem to have faced throughout my own career, is the way in which skills can be integrated so that they become an essential part of the process of study, and more importantly how they can be applied to the employment which graduates take up afterwards. I have to admit that I do not posses all the skills I need to present this paper to you today, and it is thanks to Bernard and Neil, two of our Information Advisors that I was able to locate retrieve and download a particular full text article which was to inform what I wanted to talk about. A combination of their existing skill, the training we have provided for these particular group of staff, and the environment in which we expect them to operate. hey offer support to all users on Information sources and resources, paper and electronic, they trouble shoot problems with word processing student Email and powerpoint within Microsoft office and they train and teach these skills to our undergraduate students.
We are meeting the expectations of students in the provision of equipment, and providing them with the experience of using it.
