About The Workshop

UKOLN facilitated a workshop on Beyond Email: Collaborative Technologies For the 21st Century on Wednesday 21st September 2005 for SWMLAC (South West Museums, Libraries and Archives Council).

The workshop facilitators were Brian Kelly and Emma Tonkin. The contacts are Tracey Morris, RSC South West and Virginia Havergal, SWMLAC.

Workshop Aims

The aims of the workshop are to enable staff working in cultural heritage and educational organisations in the South West of England to learn about collaborative technologies which can be used to support collaborative working across organisations and to provide enhanced services for the user community.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the workshop participants will:

Target Audience

The workshop is aimed primarily at managers and developers in cultural heritage and educational organisations in the south west region who have a responsibility for developing cultural heritage and educational Web services. The workshop will cover several technical areas related to collaborative technologies. However technical expertise in Web site development, programming, etc. is not required.

Format

The workshop will consist of presentations, exercises and group discussions.

Between 10-20 participants can attend this hands-on workshop (7 delegates attended together with two staff from RSC SW and SWMLAC (only delegate failed to attend due to illness).
