The IWMW 2006 workshop, held at the University of Bath on 14-16th June 2006 attracted over 190 delegates. A total of 68 workshop evaluation forms were returned. A summary of these forms is given below.

Feedback On The Plenary Talks

The most highly rated plenary speakers were Michael Webb (average rating of 4.29), Andy Powell (rating of 3.95) and Ranjit Sidhu (rating of 3.82).

Feedback on the Panel Sessions

The "CMS Debate: Challenging the Consensus", chaired by Miles Banberry was particularly well received. Mike McConnell and Iain Middleton gave a controversial (and hilarious) argument against CMS and Piero Tintori, CEO of TERMINALFOUR and Stephen Pope, Eduserv returned with a well-structured response. The session received an average rating of 4.04.

The panel session on "Web 2.0: Behind the Hype", chaired by Lawrie Phipps was a real example of Web 2.0 in action. Paul Miller, Talis, Scott Wilson, CETIS and Brian Kelly, UKOLN all gave a good demonstration of the enthusiasm and excitement involved when using Web 2.0 technologies. The session received an average rating of 4.04.

Once again with a total of 18 parallel session, from which delegates could only attend 2 it is not possible to make a valid comparison across all of the parallel sessions. However the five parallel sessions with the highest ratings were those facilitated by:

Feedback on the Social Events

The social events at these year's workshops included a workshop Barbeque and a drinks reception at the Roman Baths. The feedback of the social events is summarised below.

Conclusions

The feedback provided on the evaluation forms confirm that IWMW 2006 was a very successful event (despite the World cup!). A big thanks to all involved!! If you have any ideas on how we can improve your event then please let us know.

We will be providing the speakers and workshop facilitators will more detailed feedback on their individual sesssions.
