This session will give an outline of work of the DCMI and review the current status of use of Dublin Core.
UKOLN's involvement with the DCMI Affiliates will be described and feedback invited on the work plans for this area of work.

• Have gained an understanding of Dublin Core metadata and its role in various areas of interest to the educational and cultural heritage sector.
• Have heard about UKOLN's plans to support the DCMI work through its DCMI Affiliates role.
• Have provided feedabck on these plans, especially in areas of direct interest for the participants.
